  • 1. Purpose of this Privacy Policy


    This Privacy Policy sets out how Cheil New Zealand Limited (Cheil, we, us, our) collects, uses, discloses, stores and protects your personal information. It also explains how you can access and correct your personal information and make a complaint if you believe we have breached the Privacy Act 2020 (Privacy Act).


    The purpose of collecting any personal information from you is to enhance your end-to-end customer and brand experiences that make up the services that Cheil offers.


    This Policy applies to the collection, storage, use and distribution of personal and sensitive information.

    Personal information will be defined in accordance with section 2 of the Privacy Act.

    This Privacy Policy governs all personal information collected by and provided to us (including via our website) and must be adhered to by all persons who access, use, process, control or otherwise deal with Personal Information on our behalf.

    Cheil will generally collect personal information directly from you, or derived from your use of our services, unless it is unreasonable or impracticable to do so.

    •     (c) If the information collected from the person directly is not really practicable or would undermine the purpose of collection; and

    We will collect your personal information to allow us to provide you with services.

    Cheil will only supply the Personal Information of the subject person when it is required to do so in the course of its functions and activities. This may include disclosure in accordance with the Privacy Act and in accordance with the information Privacy Principles under Part 3 of the Act.

    You have the right to access your own personal information that we hold on file unless any exceptions under the Privacy Act or any legislation prohibit us from doing so.


    You may also request that we correct any information, that we hold, about you.


    You are entitled withdraw consent of collection of your Personal Information at any time. If you have subscribed to receive emails from us and you would like to stop receiving them you can click the “unsubscribe” option found on all emails sent from the company. For any other withdrawals of consent, please contact the People and Culture department at hello@cheil.nz. We may be required by law to retain some personal information for a set period and will remove it after that point.


    Once your personal information no longer serves the purpose for which it is collected then we will be disposed of. One of those purposes may require the personal information to be retained for a legislated period of time.


  • 8. Accuracy of Personal Information


    We will endeavour to always take reasonable to ensure to not use or disclose information that is accurate, up to date, complete, relevant and not misleading.

    We will not use any personal information that is collected from you for any purpose other than for which it was collected unless the use of the information is directly related to the original purpose or you have given us permission to use your information for that specific purpose.

    Certain information may be collected from visitors to Cheil's website through methods such as , but not limited to, browser type, operating system, the website visited immediately before coming to our site, etc. This information is used in an aggregated manner to analyse how people use our site, such that we can improve our service.

    Cheil's website may from time to time have links to other websites not owned or controlled by the Company. These links are meant for website visitor convenience only. Links to third party websites do not constitute sponsorship or endorsement or approval of these websites. Please be aware that Cheil is not responsible for the privacy practises of other such websites.

    The Company may use cookies on our website from time to time. Cookies are very small files which a website uses to identify you when you come back to the site and to store details about your use of the site. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies but visitors can choose to reject cookies by changing their browser settings.

    Cheil is committed to ensuring that the Personal Information or otherwise confidential information. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, Cheil has put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures, meeting industry standards, to safeguard and secure information and protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.


  • 14. Protection of children under 13


    We do not knowingly seek or attract Personal Information from users under the age of 13. As with all Personal Information we hold, we will follow industry standards to protect that information, and handle it in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.


  • 15. Complaints


    Website visitors who have concerns about Cheil's privacy practises may raise their complaints to hello@cheil.nz. The Company takes privacy complaints very seriously and will investigate and respond as soon as reasonably possible after receiving written notice of the complaint.


    Complaints should be raised with the Company in the first instance. If the concerned individual(s) is unsatisfied with the outcome of the investigation, they may contact the Privacy Commissioner (Office of the Privacy Commissioner | Home)


  • 16. Changes to Privacy Policy


    Cheil reserves the right to review and change this Privacy Policy from time to time. Cheil may modify this Policy, in our sole discretion and all modifications will be effective immediately upon posting of the modifications on Cheil's Company website or announcement via email communication.
